Rekovered is one of these bands that has been going since the dawn of time. Legend has it that their first gig was at the grand opening of Stonehenge. As that famous ancient landmark was built around 3100BC we think that is unlikely, but the band have been performing for many years.
Matt is the only original member with Mike joining maybe about 14 years ago, Josh 8 years with Nick around 5 years ago...details are shady and an industry secret...shhh
Many lineup changes have occurred over the years but the current lineup is the one that rekovered is well known for. Rekovered's music has also changed dramatically through the years, incorporating more and more styles and adding more and more silliness as time has crept on. Spanning most genres you can hear a blistering version of ace of spades one minute then before you know it you are being slapped in the face with the timewarp, then system of a down, then some abba for good measure, you never know whats gonna happen.
With the release of the movie Bohemien Rhaspody last year the band have been wowing crowds with a fabulous Queen covers set. So Festy goers, make sure you save some voice for the final act....you're going to need it!
F.O.X are a female fronted synth pop act from Essex, UK.
Having released 2 albums – their debut ‘Chimera’ and follow up ‘Hypoxia’ the band have gained National and International praise along the way for their eye-popping, high energy live shows, major versus minor songwriting and use of electronics. “It’s a synth-tastic slice of pop – rather like The Gossip might sound if all guitars were suddenly outlawed” – BBC Radio 1 "It feels like you’ve been invited to the great disco on the Sun, and you shall dance on the stars until the grand supernova ends us all." - 1Q Music
The band are constantly touring the UK and abroad, their ethereal blend of electronics and dark pop gaining them multiple showcases at SXSW festival in Austin, Texas with Gibson making them their band of the festival. After forming in late 2010 and learning the tricks of the trade in 2011; 2012 was where it really kicked off for the band; supporting some amazing bands such as Blink 182, Bad Manners and [spunge], playing at some awesome festivals like Download, Slam Dunk and Hevy; and topping it off with the release their début album ‘When I Do’. The Jellycats were voted the 'Public Choice' in the Red Bull Bedroom Jam competition giving them a place on their UK Festival tour and allowing them to reach a wider fan base and play to some incredible crowds.
Moving into 2013 the band went on to support 80’s ska legends The Beat, American crime fighting super group The Aquabats! and bagged themselves a slot at the acclaimed Isle of Wight Festival; establishing themselves as a tight and energetic live band that always get the crowd bouncing.
Following up on this in 2014 The Jellycats went on to join Ska Punk royalty Reel Big Fish on their sell out UK tour and released their follow up EP 'A&E' (Alcohol and Ego's) which received fantastic feedback from fans and critics alike.
As a live act the band are known for their tight musicianship and fun, bouncy energy that inevitably rubs off on the crowd which helped them find themselves as the musical melting pots top gig of 2014.
Since then they have continued to play at venues both locally and nationally. They are just putting the finishing touches on a new album that they are preparing to release later on in the year.
Funk 2k were formed in the year 2000, after a group of musicians entered a battle of the bands competition (which they won). Just before they went on stage they were asked for their name, to which there was no reply. The host asked what music they played, “funk, soul, disco’ they responded; “OK, it’s the year 2000, so you’re called Funk 2000” he replied and Funk 2k were officially born.
Funk 2k are made up of local music teachers and session musicians with many years of experience and a love for what they do!
They have played with many industry professionals, including Olly Murs, Alexandra O’Neil and Mike Reaves to name a few and, with over 15 years of experience, they really know how to entertain!
