PLASTIC FREE ZONE
June 11, 2019
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Kelvedon Community Festival, and it will also mark the start of a move towards making the festival as green and eco friendly as possible by reducing the amount of single-use plastic used onsite during the event.
As part of this we are asking stallholders at this year’s event to try and be more environmentally conscious during the festival. For example, to consider using biodegradable food trays, plant-based glitter products, paper straws or having a vegetarian / vegan food option available.
The bar is also exploring the possibility of using reusable glasses instead of single use plastic cups.
It will take some time before the festival is completely plastic free but we hope these first steps will go a long way in reducing the event’s mark on the environment.
